Casino Loutraki has the reputation of the largest Greek Casino but also one of the largest in Europe. In its majestic halls, which are open to guests 24 hours a day every day, the fever of gambling, entertainment and enjoyment, skyrockets the adrenaline rush of players.
The archaeological site of Heraion is located in the cape of Melagkavi (western end of Perahora peninsula). The area has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The settlement of the Heraion, west of Lake Eschatiotidos (modern Vouliagmeni), experienced a period of prosperity during the Archaic period (7th-6th century BC.). Excavations by the British Archaeological School unearthed, among others, the market, the temples of Hera Akraia and Hera Limenia (with rich findings), two-storey stoa (with Doric columns on the ground floor and Ionic upstairs), residential foundations, parts of fortification works and roads, water reservoirs and fountains.
After the fall of Constantinople, Aggelis Notaras, a relative of Palaeologus, to save the church of Saint Patapios from the fury of the descendants of Hagar, he transferred it to Gerania Mountains. There, he hid it in an inaccessible cave which was found by chance at the beginning of our century, in 1904. Around the Cave of the holy relic, a nuns priory was established in 1952, which bears the name of St. Patapios. The monastery today is an attraction pole for faithful people resorting to St. Patapios to receive the cure of souls and bodies and accept strength through the path ofvirtue. Monastery also founded the children's camp "Bethlehem".
The village of Perahora is well known since ancient times for its great contribution to the War of Independence where the Fourth National Assembly settled under John Koletis. In 1848 it became the main area of the revolution, establishing the Corinthian Democracy. In Perahora you may also visit the Church of the Assumption and the Church of the Archangels.
Amusement and theme parks are a popular attraction for both locals and visitors in the area. The “Water fun” park, is located in the area of the Corinth Canal, features water entertainment for kids and adults.
